Katie & JT are one of those couples that need very little instruction when it comes to photographing their genuine emotion. (Exhibit A : Engagement Session.) JT makes funny faces which make Katie giggle uncontrollably or he'll pull her in tight like he'll never let her go; I just get to stand back and click. My mom was the second shooter and captured some fabulous candid moments throughout the day. The two were married in Katie's parent's backyard - a meaningful, intimate ceremony well celebrated with friends and (big) families. JT is the oldest of eleven kids. Yes, you read that right. Such a fun family to be around - all of whom, plus about 15 more - were crammed into a barn for half an hour when a good ol' Tennessee summer thunderstorm interrupted our last family portrait. No one complained. Not even the bride herself - just more giggling. Once the rain let up and the families rushed to the reception tent, JT came back for his photographers, umbrella in hand. On a day that most people are able to justify being all about themselves, these two had only each other and their sweet guests at the forefront of their minds the whole day and were therefore able to embrace every rainy part of it. Oh, and did I mention that their first dance was Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii? The whole day was that fun.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day, Katie & JT. You two are so much fun to be around and so obviously head over heels for one another.
This was Katie's reaction to JT telling us that they too were going to have eleven kids - all at once.
Allow me to take a moment to shamelessly plug wedding day Pre-shoots. Had JT & Katie not met before the ceremony for photos, the rain would have left us only 20 minutes for everything (family, bridal party, couple photos, etc). Not to mention they would have been waiting it out separately, resulting in less than four hours together on their wedding day. I couldn't have been more thrilled with their choice to meet up beforehand & I'm positive they would tell you the same thing.
