lifestyle family session | pasadena

i challenge you to find anything cuter than a pair of wool bibs on a chubby toddler belly. meet little lewie. he was a pretty cute baby, too, but now he seems all grown up. adventurous, inquisitive, playful and a tender mamas boy. kait is one of the loveliest and most gracious mamas I know (you can read her musings on motherhood on her blog the fair finch). i got to spend an early morning with she and her husband bryce in their charming pasadena home and follow in the footsteps of a 16 month old - something I suggest we all find a way to do more often. and if you're on the fence about shooting family portraits in your home, kait wrote about the experience here.

the pakenham family | manhattan beach photo session

this sweet, sweet family. so much love among them and it was an honor having the opportunity to document it. in the midst of their big family gathering and travel schedules, these big kids surprised their parents with an extended family photo session and showed up at manhattan beach pier on time, looking fabulous and 100% less frazzled than you would imagine 9 people preparing for their photo shoot to be. the kiddos played in the sand while the adults snuggled and the sun set slowly behind the horizon. the most laid back and enjoyable extended family session to date. thanks for sharing your beautiful family and precious time with me, pakenhams. xo

fall mini sessions | in home and beach sessions

while my internal calendar is stuck back in may sometime... i've come to accept that mini-session season is upon us! and so i've blocked off saturday, october 14th, offering a few in-home sessions in the morning and a handful of beach sessions that evening. details below - they're already half full so grab 'em while the gettin's hot.

WHEN : Saturday, October 14th

WHAT YOU GET : 30 minute lifestyle session. you get a personal online image gallery and a code to download the hi-res digital negatives. a half hour of laughs and a lifetime of memories.

WHERE : 
Option One : yo' house. within the walls where you love, chase, laugh, cry, teach, fight and makeup - images like this. There will be 4 of these available 8-11am. travel fee outside of los angeles
Option Two : Late afternoon at Pointe Dume Beach in Malibu. images like this. There will be 4 of these available 4-6pm.

WHY : because your babies are only this little once. because one day they'll ask "what was I like when I was four?" because you've made enough excuses. because you have three children now but have only documented the first one. because you look great and need to be in the photos for once. let me know if you need more reasons. 
HOW MUCH : $350 cool ones
