hedley + bennett #apronsquad

last summer i swung by the hedley + bennett headquarters (founded by killer bosslady ellen bennett) to photograph a studio tour for sf girl by bay and much to my jolly surprise, the visit turned into one of the most enjoyable ongoing gigs i have. i stop by the studio once a month to photograph new aprons and lifestyle images for the exploding apron brand and each time i'm there, i'm blown away by the kindness and killer work ethic of everyone involved. here are a few of my favorite images from recent shoots.

allison + peter + viv | los angeles family photography

the past few months have produced some of my favorite family sessions of my career. the initial inquiries are detailed and each unique in their own story but can be summarized as folks just wanting to remember their particular stage of life. and i get so excited because this is exactly why I do what I do. to document moments and create visuals for the memories you already hold so dear. to offer fresh eyes and grace in the midst of a busy or trying or exciting season. take allison+peter with their sweet little Viv, saying goodbye to their home in l.a. for a new adventure out east. most people gearing up for a cross country move and 18 weeks pregnant wouldn't think about adding "photo session" to their to-do list but they wanted to document this home, this time before three become four, and the obvious love that will followthem wherever they go. thank you for sharing this time with me, friends. xo

this mama is one of the best around. so genuine, so lovely inside and out. her kindness will melt you into a puddle and your four year old will covet her "elsa braid" every time you run into her. this little family of three (soon to be four!) welcomed me into their warm and musical home and gave a peek into their daily life. it's an intimidating thing, opening your home and giving free reign to someone else to document every nook and cranny. i never take for granted the trust that my clients give me as i step into their personal, safe space. christie expressed her hesitations about shooting in their home but as her husband's job will move them to oregon soon, she recognized the desire to document their time here in california as a family, to record the little spot they brought their newborn baby to. and i'm so glad they did. thank you for sharing this tender season of life with me, mcguires. xo
