i challenge you to find anything cuter than a pair of wool bibs on a chubby toddler belly. meet little lewie. he was a pretty cute baby, too, but now he seems all grown up. adventurous, inquisitive, playful and a tender mamas boy. kait is one of the loveliest and most gracious mamas I know (you can read her musings on motherhood on her blog the fair finch). i got to spend an early morning with she and her husband bryce in their charming pasadena home and follow in the footsteps of a 16 month old - something I suggest we all find a way to do more often. and if you're on the fence about shooting family portraits in your home, kait wrote about the experience here.

these three. so much love in one house. and how could there not be with this little blue-eyed lulu running around, spreading her magic all over. add some los angeles sunshine and a beloved crocodile puppet and voila, a favorite family session to date.

oh man do we love these three. kait and i grew up just miles from each other in the same small town of east tennessee but had never met until our husband's respective creative pursuits brought us to sunny l.a. and what a special milestone to witness, the birth of a first baby, the beginning of a family. we couldn't be more in love with little lewis wolfgang (bangarang name, right?!), and can't wait to watch this little los angeles native grow. also, how stunning is kait especially in those black and white film images? what a classic beauty. thanks for sharing life with us, you three. xo
