My most favorite place to photograph people is in their homes. It adds such a wonderfully personal aspect to the photos and documents this particular stage of life in such a lovely way. I got to team up with Molly from Almost Makes Perfect for a little at-home Valentine's inspiration -- some Valentinspiration, if you will -- when asked to share her favorite Urban Outfitters goodies with a romantic mussel meal for two. You don't have to wait 11 months for Valentines 2016 for cuddly night in. Go ahead, put on those comfy clothes and settle in. (You can find her mussel recipe, too!)

I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to meet this little biscuit. My sweet friend and creative partner, Ashley, is busy growing a tiny human and I feel so lucky to be able to document this precious time alongside of she and her husband, Aaron. We'll get to see each other a few times during her pregnancy (and then way often when she MOVES TO CALIFORNIA!), and she asked if I'd snap a few photos each time we're together to document babe's growth. I smiled and let her think that these photos wouldn't have happened if she hadn't asked... Here are a few favorites at 16 weeks from our first round back in January when they came for some sunshine, her thirtieth birthday party and the job interview that solidified their upcoming cross-country move.

molly + brandon | baby on the way

There's something so wonderful about doing life together -- growing together and experiencing huge life transitions side by side. Molly and Brandon were part of our sweet church community in Ohio and we had the pleasure of documenting their beautiful wedding day a few years back. They moved to Los Angeles for work around the time that we started considering the West Coast and graciously housed Ben for three months until Ruth and I moved out last summer. Their presence here has been so comforting; a sense of familiarity amongst so much newness. We couldn't be more grateful for their friendship during this time and are just over the moon excited about being around for the start of their family. I got to stop by their Silverlake home and photograph their sweet anticipation for this winter baby.
