baby lewis | los angeles family portraits

oh man do we love these three. kait and i grew up just miles from each other in the same small town of east tennessee but had never met until our husband's respective creative pursuits brought us to sunny l.a. and what a special milestone to witness, the birth of a first baby, the beginning of a family. we couldn't be more in love with little lewis wolfgang (bangarang name, right?!), and can't wait to watch this little los angeles native grow. also, how stunning is kait especially in those black and white film images? what a classic beauty. thanks for sharing life with us, you three. xo

Olive Lou | newborn in newport

This was my first time documenting a pregnancy all the way through and it was so neat to watch Ashley physically and emotionally prepare for this baby's arrival. (You can see the first, second, third and fourth maternity sessions with mama Ashley Wilcox.) We shot all of the sessions in film and played with light, setting, pools; but nothing was as wonderful as finally documenting this sweet little one in the flesh. Olive Lou is hands down the smiliest human being I have ever met and already spreads so much joy to all who meet her. I know she's gonna do great things and love her people deeply.

When you read this I'll be soaking up my Midwest loves and celebrating the very mama and baby you see in these pictures at a baby shower that's bound to get wild. We can't wait to meet this little one and it's been such a joy to document this season of pregnancy for Ashley+Aaron. You can see our first and second maternity sessions (also in film), and let this one tie you over until our fourth and final that we'll be shooting next week. (To be followed, of course, by an endless stream of adorable squishy newborn baby pictures once that kid arrives and MOVES TO L.A.!)
