I remember my mom coming into my bedroom when I was 14 and snapping a quick photograph, giggling, and walking out. My room was a wreck. Photos ALL over the floor, glue, stickers (I made a pretty fabulous scrapbook of my sophomore year), clothes piled in all corners (remember what a real struggle dressing for high school was?!). I forgot about it until the film (!) came back and she showed me the photo, telling me that her good friend urged her to take a picture of the mess because one day it wouldn't be there and she'd miss it. I love that perspective and now, in the midst of constant-tiny-apartment-toddler-mess, am doing my best to embrace it and enjoy it. What a gift to your littles to allow creativity and imagination take over the household. Thanks for the lesson, Mama. xo
los angeles maternity session in film
I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to meet this little biscuit. My sweet friend and creative partner, Ashley, is busy growing a tiny human and I feel so lucky to be able to document this precious time alongside of she and her husband, Aaron. We'll get to see each other a few times during her pregnancy (and then way often when she MOVES TO CALIFORNIA!), and she asked if I'd snap a few photos each time we're together to document babe's growth. I smiled and let her think that these photos wouldn't have happened if she hadn't asked... Here are a few favorites at 16 weeks from our first round back in January when they came for some sunshine, her thirtieth birthday party and the job interview that solidified their upcoming cross-country move.

Sarah Drew PEOPLE Magazine Feature
New babies are one of my favorite things to photograph - especially on this side of motherhood, now that I've personally experienced how big your heart can explode with the addition of one tiny human. I had the sincere pleasure of photographing Sarah Drew and her family's expansion from three to four when they welcomed baby Hannah Mali-Rose into their home in December -- and then made my own parents extra proud when the images were featured in People Magazine…. so glad to know Sarah and her lovely family and so glad to have more ginger babes in the world.
