New babies are one of my favorite things to photograph - especially on this side of motherhood, now that I've personally experienced how big your heart can explode with the addition of one tiny human. I had the sincere pleasure of photographing Sarah Drew and her family's expansion from three to four when they welcomed baby Hannah Mali-Rose into their home in December -- and then made my own parents extra proud when the images were featured in People Magazine…. so glad to know Sarah and her lovely family and so glad to have more ginger babes in the world.

When our Los Angeles move was finalized, my dear friend, Hart & Honey creative partner and designer extraordinaire, Ashley Wilcox took it upon herself to design a new kick-ass-west-coast lookbook for my big city adventures. I couldn't be happier with it and am posting it here for the sole purpose of showing off her mad skillz (alright and also to procrastinate updating my website again). it's official that I have found my spirit colors. (You know, like a spirit animal but maybe less intimidating…) I wasn't even fully aware that I was on the hunt for them so perhaps I should say that they found me since that seems more in line with a color's spirit. Regardless, we are now united and I couldn't be happier especially since I have the privilege of encountering these desert beauts every day now. Though the hugh changes throughout the day with the intensity of the sun, these colors woo me from first to last light. Wide open palettes proudly display an array of slightly muted blues, pinks, purples and gold. And the textures?! That's an entirely different pony. Here's a collection of some of my favorite desert film images taken in the last six months.
